Guided tour in the Dachau concentration camp memorial site

As the Munich police chief Heinrich Himmler announced the opening of the Dachau concentration camp on March 20, 1933, few suspected that this name would forever become synonymous with SS violence and National Socialist terror.

The concentration camp memorial site is a legacy for future generations. “It is designed to help save mankind from having to repeat a similar disaster,” said General André Delpech, a survivor.

2020 the words of Max Manheimer remind us… “You are not to blame for what was but you are responsible that it happened anymore.”

This guided tour of the memorial and the exhibition gives an idea of the conditions that prisoners had to endure in the camp.
